 CCR Question Number Four

How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware, and online – in this project?

For the filming and recording portion of the project, we were very fortunate in the sense that Ana’s younger brother is really into film and production so he had plenty of great equipment available for us to utilize. We used a tripod for the film portion which helped us get stable and more professional-looking angles and shots. For editing, we used the program Premiere Pro. This program allowed us to make our clean edit vision come to life. For our blog posts, we used iMovie to create a small montage of filming days.

 CCR Question Number Three

How did your production skills develop throughout this project? (production skills)

This project was a learning opportunity for both of us. We felt as if we put everything we were learning all year to the final test in the effort of seeing how well we could do.

 CCR Question Number Two

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? (distribution)

Our film opening is a romance which, according to our research, mainly targets a younger age group of years 15-24. This means we had to take that into consideration even when it came to our preferred editing style. People of this age group prefer faster, straight to the point styles. So, our editing style was very clean and direct. This could attract that targeted age group.

 CCR Question Number One

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? (conventions and social groups)

As mentioned previously, In our film, although it is a romance, we wanted to incorporate a bit of action, terror, and suspense. Keeping this in mind, we decided to set it in the times of a global pandemic, like the one we are currently experiencing. Also, our stars represent the Hispanic immigrants in the US social group/class. The stars represent that particular social group in our opening.
